Turkey and Iraq are two friend countries linked by many social and political trade links.
Due to the instable situation in Iraq, the Iraqis started to immigrate to Turkey, whether to live and settle there or to invest in it. Of course, the urban boom won the admiration of the Iraqis, and they rushed to own real estate in Turkey to take advantage of the benefits offered by the Turkish government to real estate buyers on its lands.
Based on the law of the Turkish Council of Ministers of buying and selling real estate, Iraqis have the right to own real estate in Turkey, including all real estate activities in Turkey, like buying, selling, renting and leasing.
There are two conditions set by the Turkish government for Iraqis to own real estate in its lands: the acceptance of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and permission of the approval of the Ministry of Interior.
Documents required for Iraqis to own real estate:
• A valid passport
• A personal ID to transfer the national number
• Obtaining a residence permit for those required by law to do so
Under the law of real estate ownership for foreigners in Turkey, Iraqis have the right to obtain residency when buying a property worth less than 250 thousand US dollars, and they are also entitled to obtain Turkish citizenship, while the value of the property was 250 thousand US dollars or more.
