Inauguration of Taksim Mosque, The New Landmark in Istanbul,

The Taksim Mosque which overlooks the historic Taksim Square in Istanbul was opened on the last Friday of Ramadan on May 28, 2021, when it was the 568th anniversary of the conquest of Constantinople, with the participation of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Turkish officials.

Thousands of worshipers participated in the first Friday prayer to be held in The mosque.
The Turkish President thanked everyone who participated in the construction of the mosque, noting that "the Taksim Mosque is a new symbol of Turkey's independence."
The Turkish President also stressed that the mosque is not only a place of worship, but in the future it will be a cultural and artistic center, thanks to the facilities it contains, as it contains an art hall, conference hall and other services.
The mosque occupies an area of ​​2.5 acres, with a capacity for four thousand worshipers, and its dome is 33 me high and its minaret 65 m high.
