Why Arabs are the most buying Turkish properties?
According to The Turkish Statistical Institute, as Iraq ranked first nationality among Arabs nationalities.
As Iraqis bought about 18% of the 143,000 properties sold to foreigners in 2015-2019.
After Iraqis came Iranians and Saudis with 9% each, the Russians at 5%, and Kuwaitis, Qataris and Emiratis with less than 5% for each.
The value of deals was $ 52 billion between 2003-2019, with an average of $ 3 billion per fiscal year.
The Turkish Central Bank said: Gulf countries' quota , excluding Bahrain, is about 9% of the total direct investment in Turkey, which reached $ 133 billion as of 2018.
According to data monitored by Anadolu Agency, Doha intends to launch new investments in Turkey worth 7 billion USD , which will be concentrated in the fields of real estate and banking.
As for the UAE, it increased the volume of its direct investments from 5 million in the first half of 2018, to reach 27 million USD during the same period in 2019. Meanwile, the volume of trade exchange between Bahrain and Turkey reached 300 million USD during the last year.
Regarding Saudis, their quota in the Turkish stock market reached 2.4%, while the total share of the Gulf Cooperation Council countries in the Turkish stock market ranges around 7%.
Turkish government expectations estimate that the volume of trade between Ankara and the Arab countries will reach 7 billion dollars this year.
